Show me then the truth of its nature - PARIAH deleted content [RITUAL MAGIC]

I am doing a pre-edit of PARIAH before the real edit by The MoonRat Conspiracy, mainly because if I submitted the manuscript in its current state, it would cost an absolute fortune. So while it's good tor prune and preen, I can't help but feel regret for pulling out lengthy nonsense passages like the magical ritual you're about to read.

Baobab by Beth Moon
This is a magical ritual that any who know may perform, though there are comparatively few of them...

PARIAH - Deleted Content

As stated in my last post, I am presently hard at work on my recently Kickstarted zine, Pariah. As that has led to me neglecting the blog somewhat, I think it's only fair to share some of that work with my readership here.

Initial drawing by Jef Cox for the zine's cover.
The process of re-drafting the copy has been particularly arduous, as I battle with my secret desire to rewrite all the rules to b/x D&D, produce a running commentary on the design decisions while also suffering the constraints of a forty page A5 zine.

Some of the stuff I've had to omit or seriously edit (and this is prior to passing the copy over to Fiona Maeve Geist and Jarrett Crader of The MoonRat Conspiracy for editing) includes the extensive introductory notes to the game. Before I permanently delete them, have a look for yourself:

NEWS FROM THE LABYRINTH

I just wanted to make a brief post to update regular readers of the blog and to apologise for the recent spate of inactivity. At the end of last month I returned to my home country of the United Kingdom from Vietnam, and have been looking for employment whilst also running a Kickstarter for my old school RPG zine PARIAH.

A working sketch for some of the PARIAH artwork by Jef Cox.
Thanks to a surprising level of support from the DIY scene, particularly on twitter, PARIAH smashed its funding goal. In total honesty I was not prepared for it to be so successful, and am now devoting much of my free time to ensuring it is fulfilled on time - and also exceeds my own usual standards.

VOLUME XV - LIBRARY OF BABEL'S FIVE ON FRIDAY

I suppose I should have done the Brexit edition last week, but then I was already a week behind with my Lunar New Year Edition. I'll catch up next week: Valentines Day, anyone?

THIS IS THE NEWS

What happened to London's giant bell? Is it the bell's end of Big Ben?
Hello. As with last week, I'm going to just post some links then attempt to ramble incoherently into a microphone for twenty minutes, leaving you wondering why you didn't just follow the links in the first place. Do that, no-one will know.... I mean, I will: at least five people listened to it last time...

But first (and in service to the greater blogger gods: read Froth's Humpday Blog-O-Rama and please have a look at this incredible blogroll at Dragons Never Forget.
